Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar, son of late actor Dr.Rajkumar passed away due to massive heart attack on 29th October, Friday. He was 46 years old. It is shocking and heartbreaking to believe that the very talented and youth inspiring actor of Kannada film Industry is no more.
As per the reports Puneeth was working out when he complained about chest pain, and was soon taken to the hospital. Later the actor was admitted in Vikram Hospital where he was being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU). But despite all the efforts they couldn’t save Puneeth. He was declared dead at 2:30pm on Friday.
But even after his death the actor has set an example for today’s generation by donating his eyes just like his father Veteran Rajkumar. Actor Chetan Kumar Ahimsa tweeted – ” A team of doctors performed the procedure within six-hour window after his death.” NDTV reported.
The news of his death left his family, friends, colleagues and fans grief-stricken. Fans rushed to the hospital complex in shock after listening to the devastating news of Puneeth Rajkumar’s demise.
A huge crowd of fans gathered into Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru to have a glimpse of their hero for one last time.
To pay respect shops were closed in various locations in Bengaluru and now the liquor outlets, including bars and restaurants, wine stores will remain closed till 31st October, Sunday.
The Karnataka government has alerted respective departments for high security inorder to control the crowd. Nearly 6000 police personnels are on duty.
Police Commissioner, Kamal Pant has mentioned that “intensive patrolling is being conducted to ensure no untoward incident occurs.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted “A cruel twist of fate has snactched away from us a profolic and talented actor, Puneeth Rajkumar. This was no age to go. The coming generations will remember him fondly for his works and wonderful personality. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti”
The actors last rites will be held on 30th October, Saturday after his elder daughter Vanditha returns to India. The cremation will happen in Kanteerava Studios in Bengaluru where his parents Dr. Rajkumar and Parvathamma are buried.
The Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that last rites of Puneeth Rajkumar will be performed with full state honours.
Great artists are immortal. Wonderful work and memories of “Appu ji” (Puneeth Rajkumar) will always keep him alive in the hearts of his family, friends and fans. May his soul rest in peace.
